Kayaks and canoes

The Kipawa is the ideal place for short or long paddling excursions. You are sure to find the perfect itinerary for your needs. Kayaks and canoes are available to rent at outfitter locations around Laniel.

Underwater Diving and Treasure Hunting

Lake Kipawa, with its deep clear water, is a popular diving destination. Diving Kipawa’s depths, you may come across one of the many large lake boats that have gone down in these waters, or discover a little bit of history finding artifacts that belonged to the Algonquin Indians who paddled Lake Kipawa in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Public dock, boat ramp and park

The Village of Laniel has public boat launching and parking facilities for visitors needing access to Lake Kipawa. Picnic tables, toilettes and a 30′ x 30′ pavillion for diverse activities, is available near-by, where you can enjoy a lunch. Drinking water is now available on site.


ATVs and Motor-Bikes

The summer months the snowmobile trail becomes a multi-purpose trail, widely used by pedestrians, mountain bikes and ATV.

Cross-Country skiing and snowshoes

Laniel has 15 km of cross-county ski trails through a magnificent cedar forest, for use by beginner, intermediate and expert skiers. Shelters have been installed along the trail for your convenience.

 

Snowmobile Trail

The Trans-Quebec Number 63 trail uses the old Canadian Pacific railway through the village of Laniel.
